Healthy Diet

Healthy Foods

One should have at least one single serving of these items per week.

Banana

I heard it helps with cramps.  Good source of potassium.

Beans

I love these with rice.

Bread

Plain, or with butter, it's good!

C-Ry-All

Nothing wrong with a little shameless self-promotion, and sugar.

Hemp Seeds

Containing all of the essential amino and fatty acids they are the most nutritious food know.  Sprinkle them on anything.

Milk

Might wanna have some of this.  I love Soy milk!

Oatmeal

Quite healthy.  When's the last time you had some?

Pasta

We need those complex carbohydrates.  Dat ramen tho!

Peanut Butter

Some people eat it stand alone.

Rice

Rice is higher on the glycemic index than sugar, thus a very efficient fuel source for the brain.  I really wanna see a rice based energy drink.

Spinach

A great green.  Easy to eat raw.  Good with dressing in a salad.

Whey Protein

Many bodybuilders supplement with this form of protein derived from milk.

Macro-Nutrients

What our bodies use for energy.

Alcohol

7 Cal/g

It very important to limit one's alcohol consumption.  Preferably, never more than one.

Carbohydrates

4 Cal/g

Most of our energy comes from this source, usually in the form of glycogen.

Fat

9 Cal/g

Fat is healthy.  It is important to get enough of it.

Protein

4 Cal/g

Necessary to build and maintain muscle.  Limit meat items.

Micro-Nutrients

It might help to do some research to make sure you are getting what's needed. Diversity helps.

Energy Drinks

Excellent source of micro-nutrients, most of the time.

Nuts

Good snack.  Regularly?

Fruits and Vegetables

Whole foods over processed.

Organic

Organic foods need to be promoted more heavily.

Vegan

It's important to limit meat and other animal products.

Vegetarian

While vegetarian diets are extremely healthy, it is important to get some meat, like 2 servings per week.

Might wanna check up with a dietitian.
